My work
doesn't focus on the medium and even less on the traditional tools of the
painter. I approach
painting in a frank manner via pictural work within the traditional limits
of the frame. Whatever the employed medium (acrylic, dry pastel,
watercolour, drawing), my work has an unimposing nature due to the sedate
quality of the compositional elements. The structure is based on simple
geometric variations, harmonious colour relationships and rhythmic gesture,
creating a modulating effect on the work surface.
The work is carried out in thin layers, allowing the viewer to appreciate
the successive steps of the creative process. My paintings seem luminous, an
effect which is created in part by the relationships of the neighbouring
colours but mostly by the layering of several hues.
Moving in a harmonious or discordant diagonal, the base geometry brings the
eye to the focal point and allows the viewer to delve deeply into the
meditative atmosphere
of the work
Reconsidering the compositional elements in an abstract structuralism, my
work confronts us with direct opposites:
the
square vs. the triangle, stability vs. instability and nervous treatment vs.
the quietness of horizontality with emits from the entire painting.
